Chronic joint pain is yet another cause of suffering and disability for millions of Americans. Knee, hip, shoulder, and multiple other joints can become painful from injury or overuse and the pain can become unremitting. Over a million joints are replaced in the US each year, and these surgeries are highly successful. Unfortunately, not everyone is a good candidate for these surgeries, patients may wish to avoid surgery, and in some cases, pain continues even after a successful joint surgery.
At KRPC, we offer non-surgical treatments to help joint pain--even after surgery. As always, Physical Therapy is available to strengthen and balance muscle function. Injections into or around certain joints can be helpful. Small nerves that conduct pain from the joint can be treated or eliminated to give long-term relief. And new options with nerve stimulation may give lifelong relief for some patients.
