Back and Spine Pain

Back PainBack pain affects adults of all walks of life; in fact, most of us has had or will have back pain at some point in our lives. For some, back pain is chronic and severe and is the leading cause of disability worldwide. Not surprisingly, chronic back pain is a leading cause of doctor visits and is the most common condition treated at KRPC.

Back pain may be caused by structural changes in the discs, the bones of the spine, or from nerves that travel through these areas to serve lower body structures. Often, patients require surgery to stabilize the spine and improve function. Unfortunately, even after surgery, pain often continues and is a source of frustration for sufferers of chronic back pain.

At KRPC, we offer both diagnostic and therapeutic treatments for all of these causes. Physical Therapy is an important component of treatment to strengthen and balance the core muscles that support the spine. Diagnostic and therapeutic injections are used both to help identify the source of the pain and to treat the resulting painful conditions. Selective nerves can be treated to reduce the pain from arthritis. And implantable nerve stimulators are available for long-term pain reduction.
